The Lighthouse-Lomita Sober Living facility in Lomita California has been ranked as one of the top transition houses throughout the United States. The transitional housing homes are privately owned residential homes that can be owned by families, individuals or a company as a way to create a little bit more affordable living space in transitional times of transition. These transition houses are managed by the California Interfaith Human Services Organization (CHHSO), who works with people throughout the county who are experiencing the effects of the recession. Some of the homes have been sold, while others remain in the transitional housing program, where they can be used as a permanent residence when someone feels ready to move into a brand new home.
The Lighthouse transitional housing offers various sojourns each month, which include both sojourns to the main house itself and the transition times between various housemates within the residence. Each month, the family is assigned a supervisor who oversees the daily sojourns and ensures that everyone is happy and able to cope with sojourns at the Sober Living center. This is a great benefit for families who may have trouble coping with their personal lives during the transition phase. The Lighthouse-Lomita Sober Living also has an on-site doctor on hand who offers both routine medical care as well as emergency care should the need arise. The doctor’s office is just a few steps away from the center, so if someone has a question about their health it can be answered promptly. There are four individual apartments available in addition to the sojourns, and families can choose whether they would prefer a studio apartment, one bedroom apartment, two bedrooms apartments, multiple bunk beds, or a home in the hills.
The Lighthouse-Lomita Sober Living program offers sojourns seven days a week, and there is no limitation as to how many people can come to stay at the house. This gives families the opportunity to meet and greet others during the transition period, as well as form lasting friendships. These transition residences offer more privacy than a hotel or transition house, and there are many benefits to staying at a Sober Living center for the entire duration of your life. Housing is top-notch and most guests never realize they are in a transition residence until they check in. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, and you will feel right at home during your sojourn at the Lighthouse-Lomita Sober Living Center.
