In recognition of its pioneering work in the substance abuse treatment field, The New Directions Counseling Center has received awards from The Great Northern Society and the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence. The center offers one of the finest drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs in the country. The drug and alcohol addiction treatment programs are characterized by individualized, intensive, collaborative and flexible approaches to address the changing needs of people suffering from addictions.
The New Directions Counseling Center believes that recovery is possible for everyone. This organization offers a variety of programs and activities for adults and children addicted to drugs or alcohol, in addition to providing intensive residential, outpatient or day/night residential treatment programs for those who need extended treatment for substance abuse. The primary goal of the drug addiction treatment program at the New Directions Counseling Center is to provide an environment that will facilitate transformation and healing for the addict.
A strong emphasis on patient education and empowerment within the treatment setting is part of the New Directions Drug Rehab in Longmont policy. The belief is that addiction is largely a learned behavior, and that there can be no cure for it. The goal of the center is to provide the individual with the tools necessary for them to become self-sufficient and to control their cravings. There are a number of state of the art facilities at the New Directions Counseling Center, which combines traditional therapy with contemporary therapy in an effort to focus on the holistic needs of the addict. Programs include a 12-step recovery program, a gender-specific therapy, nutrition and fitness assessment, life coaching and a physical fitness program.
