Mind Springs is a newly established drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. It is located near Vail and has two satellite centers: One in Breckenridge and another one in Vail. It was named after John W. Mindy, who was a respected Colorado Springs psychiatrist who practiced major addiction treatment, including inpatient, residential, outpatient treatment and psychotherapy/behavioral replacement therapy. His theories were revolutionary and have been used to form a comprehensive addiction treatment approach that is used by the mental health, schools, colleges and hospitals to today. Mind Springs was created by combining some of his teachings with the highly successful practices of other therapists and treatment centers. It provides people with several individualized programs designed specifically for the needs of clients, including; drug and alcohol rehabilitation, gambling addiction, sex addiction, prescription medication abuse, family issues and many others.
At the drug rehab center, you will be able to receive various types of treatment depending on the severity of your addiction. They also offer different kinds of therapies which can help improve your physical and psychological health, as well as your ability to care for yourself. Some of the different treatment approaches include, detoxification, education, group and family sessions, as well as relapse prevention and education. All these strategies aim at helping you to overcome your addiction, so that you can lead a normal life without being dependent on the drugs or alcohol that you are addicted to.
The Colorado Springs Area Agency on Drug Control (SCADC) also offers treatment for people who are addicted to a controlled substance, including alcohol or prescription medications. This agency is the coordinating authority for the city of Colorado Springs and the surrounding area. In addition, it is one of the state’s referral services for alcohol and drug treatment.
