Information about Sober Living in Trenton New Jersey

You can find Sober Living in Trenton, if you know where to look. Known as a transitional dwelling, these housing facilities are intended to help people transition from long-term or short-term living. Housing solutions for people include secure self-contained living spaces for the elderly and disabled as well as smaller units suitable for quick transitions from short-term to long-term care. In addition, many of the halfway houses offer services such as elder care assistance and home health care as well as supportive services for individuals with developmental disabilities. According to the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, funding for the development of these homes is expected to generate approximately twenty-one new long-term and fifteen short-term rental units for families across the state. The proposal for the funding was recently released by the New Jersey Governor’s Office of Management and Budget. According to this proposed budget, the money would be used to rehabilitate and upgrade the properties that are to be sold to newly-housed inmates. The rehabilitation includes addressing safety and security concerns as well as concerns about the impact on the surrounding communities. As part of the plan, the proposed budget also proposes to construct affordable residential options for families who would rather not invest in a costly bungalow or condominium. The budget does not specify how the funds will be spent but according to the office of the governor, each phase of the project is based on current needs for housing across the state. For example, the priority for upgrading and repairing old buildings is to make them safe and secure for residents. Another focus includes providing a more comfortable living experience for residents to reduce turnover. To that end, some halfway houses in New Jersey have recently undergone significant makeovers. In response to an influx of newly-housed families, many of these houses have added extra features such as a play area for children and a swimming pool to address the growing need for amenities.
