The Total Freedom program is a non-profit organization that provides housing, counseling, employment, and other services to people who are addicted to alcohol and/or drugs. These individuals are provided with resources, including a support network, phone calls, legal assistance, education programs, and other tools to help them live an alcohol-free life. Total Freedom provides housing options for people who have completed their alcohol treatment programs. The program also offers transitional living homes for families who have received the full continuum of services from a local alcohol and drug treatment center but cannot afford to move into a facility. The Total Freedom program works in collaboration with local and state agencies to provide these individuals with employment resources and counseling services, as well as referral to local treatment centers. This non-profit organization is committed to reducing the number of people who become addicted to alcohol or drugs, while providing quality programs and housing options to those who have completed their recovery.
The transitional living community in Ocoee, Florida is a four-story building that contains twenty-four apartments, one town home, and one coop for chickens. Total Freedom provides the staff members with professional, on-site guidance and education about nutrition, exercise, and other issues important to living in an alcohol-free environment. The residents pay a low monthly fee and are not required to provide a credit check or background checks. Total Freedom’s residential treatment center offers a twelve-step program that helps to bring people back from addiction.
The transition period takes two to three months, during which time the residents work through their issues and begin to build a secure base of strength and support within the Sober Living community. At the end of the transitional period, when a resident has graduated from the program and moved out, they receive a welcome-home kit that includes a map, key chains, inspirational literature, a Bible, food and a bag of water. People who complete the program are given the opportunity to refer other people through the Sober Living network. Total Freedom’s residential treatment center provides a safe and healthy environment for those who enter.
