Gateway Foundation for Women Sacramento CA 95817

The Gateway Foundation for Women and Transitional Living provides support services to women and families through housing, employment, education and training, and supportive services. We provide the unique opportunity to build a network of caring, enabling partners who have the skills, resources and commitment to take a holistic approach to women’s and girls’ development, with an emphasis on building loving relationships and reaching our most fundamental goals for girls and women. The Gateway Foundation for Women has been transforming the lives of women and girls, while creating a network of experts who can empower each other and promote policies that create a safer future for all. The Foundation works to transform the lives of women through its three programs: Gateway program, the Office of Fair Housing and Women in Government and the Office of Social Development.

Gateway program works to build women’s and girls’ leadership, economic development, and policy expertise. Oftentimes when girls move from childhood to adolescence, their journey is full of fear, hardship, and heartache, making the transition to adulthood even more difficult and dangerous. By developing the skills and knowledge necessary for girls to make successful transitions into adulthood, The Gateway Foundation for Women helps girls in various situations. Through programs such as drug and alcohol intervention and comprehensive sex education and prevention initiatives, we empower girls to make positive life changing decisions and gain access to quality housing, employment and education.

Our transitional living programs work to empower women and girls by helping them to find stability in work and family life. Through a variety of programs we work to help women maintain stable, rewarding careers and lead healthy and productive lives. Programs such as the Office of Fair Housing and Women in Government help to create better environments for women and girls by providing opportunities for low income women to own and operate small businesses. Through a broad range of activities, the OFSGH helps to improve life for women in the areas of family and credit, health and safety, employment and education, and volunteer opportunities. The Gateway Foundation for Women’s programs achieve their goals by working to empower women through education, business and volunteer opportunities, and a secure future.
