The Arizona Youth Partnership has been working hard to strengthen and develop relationships with the neighborhoods in our southern part of the state. This has given us a good foundation for what we are doing now, as well as the means to continue this work on an ongoing basis. When I was a young person in the Arizona State Legislature, I worked very hard with our state House speaker, they helped introduce and promote the Arizona Youth Partnership programs to the community and helped us secure funding for the program.
One of the most important elements to the Arizona Youth Partnership is our alcohol and drug treatment programs. These are vital components to any successful program, but the YLP program is especially focused and dedicated to helping those who have a substance abuse problem or other addiction. If you are an adult with a substance abuse problem, you need to check into one of our transitional living homes for adults or a transitional living center for teens. These are great places to start if you are looking for an affordable way to get clean and to also find community with like-minded people. If you are ready to get back to being independent, try not to wait too long, we all know that time is short.
The Arizona Youth Partnership also works with schools to help them implement new programs and strategies for dealing with troubled and at-risk youth. I would love to see schools start up some centers for troubled youth, it would be such a great asset to the school district and the kids would greatly benefit from the program. Some of these centers for troubled youth would include after school programs, summer jobs, after school programs, therapeutic daycare or a combination of these. As a parent, I believe it is very important that we try to take care of our children as best we can, and we owe it to our children to try to do this as effectively as we can. Please consider all this in 2021.
