Located just a short distance from Phoenix, this new transitional house offers families a chance to enjoy quality living in an environmentally-friendly, small-town setting. J Sober Living is owned by Jonny and Desiree Sober, who purchased the property in January of 2021 with the mission of creating a “sober living experience” for their eight-year old son, J. Sober lived at the transition home with his family for just over a month, and he was thrilled to move in when his mother and I gave the home a warm welcome. He has since lived at the Sober Living halfway house full time.
Transition homes offer tenants the chance to live comfortably between transitional living arrangements. They feature spacious, fully-equipped bedrooms that are also furnished to a high standard, and they feature private outdoor spaces that are surrounded by well-manicured gardens. The transition homes are managed by Jonny and Desiree Sober and are located in Gilbert, Arizona. The Sober Family runs the business J Sober Living, which is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the transition houses.
“We chose to start this type of transition residence because it offers something for our son that we can’t find elsewhere,” says Jonny. “J and J love their backyard patio, and they really take great pride in maintaining it. They also really like the fact that they have a choice of either paying a small rent each month, or buying their own home when they’re ready to move out, like most people do in this situation.” The Sober family hopes to expand their transitional living services to other areas of the country as well, in addition to providing rental units to families in the Phoenix area.
