These include outpatient drug rehabs, residential treatment centers, short-term rehab programs, community rehabilitation programs, and extended care programs. Each of these treatments has their own unique characteristics that make them unique from the others.

Outpatient drug rehabs are the ones that are most common for people in Athens. They work closely with the addict to get them on the road to recovery. These programs focus on detoxification, medication monitoring, and social skills training. Many times, the person will return home, but in a treatment facility the addict will get the help that they need to kick the habit.

The best types of rehabs in Athens, Georgia are actually residential treatment centers. People who go through residential treatment programs have the ability to stay sober longer than if they were just attending outpatient programs. Residential rehabs are also very expensive because they usually involve longer stays. However, when someone realizes how much better they feel after treatment, then they are often glad to pay for the price.

A long term rehab may involve a group. They will discuss the effects of the abuse, help you to identify the triggers that cause your problem, and work to get you past these issues. These programs have the potential to be very difficult and it is important that you get as much information as possible about this type of program before you commit yourself. You should always take a look at these programs carefully before choosing one as some of them may involve longer rehab periods. You will want to decide if you can afford to stay in the program long term. It is also important to look at what type of support you will have available if you choose to use a rehab center. This is something that should be discussed with your doctor and family.
