Information about Drug Rehabs in West Park, Florida
At Compassion Mental Health and drug rehabilitation Hollywood, Florida, we feel that addiction treatment is merely the beginning to a new life. Our specialty drug detox and treatment centers are individually tailored for each patient, with personalized therapy as a central part of the program.
Our treatment plan, which includes both drug detox and substance abuse treatment, allows patients to enter into a drug rehabilitation center where they can receive individual attention. This is done through group therapies and individual counseling sessions. These programs are designed with the patient’s personal goals in mind so that he or she can successfully complete the rehab process.
As the name implies, a substance abuse treatment center is a program designed to address an addict’s alcohol and drug use. This will result in an improved quality of life as well as an increased chance of quitting the use of drugs. However, while these programs can be effective at treating substance abuse, it is important that the patient understands that these programs cannot cure an addiction.
Drug rehabs and substance abuse treatments are best approached as a preventive measure. When a person first begins to engage in substance abuse, the problem may appear dormant and isolated but when continued use leads to serious consequences such as an increase in crime and a decrease in employment opportunities, it is then time to take action to get clean.
Rehabs offer treatment programs specifically geared toward this end. Many times, a program will focus on specific areas such as substance abuse, self-esteem, anger management, and other issues such as communication and relationship improvement. Some also include social skills, and relapse prevention education. As more people become interested in recovery, there will be a need for an increased staff to monitor the progress of those who have begun the treatment process.
The majority of the drug rehabilitation programs will be in-patient programs or outpatient centers. These are sometimes called detoxification programs, because patients will be receiving medication and detox treatment at the same time and the goal is to get them out of the drug abuse cycle and onto the road to recovery. However, there are also outpatient programs for those that would prefer to complete the drug detox process and then be able to return home and resume a more normal life.
Inpatient treatment means staying at the drug detox center for a set number of days or weeks. During this time, patients will receive intensive therapy and counseling. Depending on the type of treatment, patients may undergo a series of tests to determine the severity of their drug dependence. Once this information has been obtained, doctors and nurses will then recommend a drug detox program for the patient to follow.
While treatment at an alcohol rehabilitation center will typically start with a one-on-one detox, some centers will provide a longer stay with a group therapist. For many patients, aftercare will be one-on-one therapy where they will receive one-on-one counseling sessions. Once the program has been completed, the patient will be encouraged to return to his or her daily routines and resume a positive lifestyle.
The process of entering the drug rehabs is a significant one that needs to be carefully thought out. Before the addict can be cleared from his or her addiction, a thorough assessment should be performed. This involves evaluating the addict’s current health conditions, medical history, and any mental and emotional issues that may be present, as well as checking up with the state’s Department of Health.
After a complete evaluation has been performed, a rehab can begin with either detoxification or outpatient treatment. A detoxification program is typically less intense than an outpatient program, although both have the same goal: to get the addict out of the drug abuse cycle. When detoxification is not completed within a specific time frame, outpatient treatment can be given.
Many times a drug rehabilitation center will only offer a few detoxification or outpatient sessions. If the addict is not ready for full treatment, they may receive a referral to an outpatient center that offers both. However, the main goal of the center will be to get the addict back to a normal routine without the harmful side effects of their drug of choice, as well as to prevent them from coming back to drug use in the future. Detoxification at a center can be done at an individual level, or groups, depending on the individual’s preferences.
The success rate of drug rehabilitation is high when a patient is willing to enter the center in a committed state. The staff will be willing to listen to the addict and to help him or her realize that quitting is the best option. Once the rehab has reached the point of being successful, the patient will benefit in other ways such as a better quality of life, a new set of skills, and a new outlook on life.
